The MacWichita Users Group (MWUG) meetings are not only highly informative, they are also a lot of fun.
Meetings typically begin with a Questions-and-Answers session. These Q&A sessions sometimes begin as early as 6:30pm depending on the needs of the group. There are a number of MWUG officers and other individuals that can answer almost any question. If they're unable to come up with workable solutions they will often research the problems and get back to the group via e-mail, the next Saturday Fix-It meeting or the next MWUG meeting.
After the Q&A session the group will typically see a demo of any freeware/shareware that has caught the interest of one or more members of the group. The MWUG Secretary often places URLs to the freeware/shareware in the month meeting notes, which can be accessed on the MWUG Calendar page. Look for a highlighted blue link on the calendar page for that particular meeting night.
Following a look at freeware/shareware the group will often be treated to a reasonably detailed look at one or more pieces of commercial software that one or more of the members are using. Many members may be using the software that is demonstrated yet often are not aware of the finer intricacies of the application. The group is shown tips and tricks to making the software more effective. Members may request demonstrations on specific pieces of software just by letting one of the MWUG officers know.
At the completion of the meeting, around 9:00pm, those members of the group who are hungry, or who simply wish to discuss additional hardware/software issues, will meet at CiCi's Pizza (Woodlawn & 37th N.). This is known as the Pizza SIG (special interest group).
